Are you stuck? Seriously, ask yourself “Am I stuck?” Statistics tell us most people working are not happy and always dreaming of a better place. So now ask yourself, “What does my dream look like?”

When was the last time you dreamed the dreams of true freedom, passion, and purpose? A few years ago I created a program called Top4; individuals and organizations identify their Top4 Values and then write their vision statement. And not just any vision statement, this is a vision of the truth they dream of. Shortly, after creating the content, training several hundred people in TOP4 my friend Michael Harbor III introduced me to Kary Oberbrunner and Kary’s book and program The Deeper Path. I noticed a change and thought pattern in Michael I did not see before and The Deeper Path brought him to a new level of thinking, not only in his business but life as a whole. By fall of 2013 and Kary has had significant impact on the way I dream and coach my clients and organizations to dream BIG. When we write and dream BIG, and yes I mean dream BIG we set the intention to bring our dreams to truth. Most of my BIG dreams have already come true so I am currently re-writing my DREAM and dreaming BIG! Fast forward to present day and I took another leap of faith to take my personal and professional growth to the next level by JUMPING to my dream job. Yes, I have owned my company for several years but I had not yet made it into my dream job. I have spent years in a corporate prison only to bring corporate America’s self-limiting beliefs with me! Day Job to Dream Job is just that a dream of dreams to our authentic self and belief. “Millions of people are squandering their talents and wasting their time in jobs they don’t love. They feel trapped and dissatisfied, afraid to risk their financial security to pursue their dreams. But anyone can make the leap from day jot to dream job – – with the right amount of knowledge, encouragement, and guts.” ~ Kary Oberbrunner My hope is you will join me in this journey by JUMPING to your dream job. Still wondering what this is all about I have links below and Kary will be our guest on GRACEbreak Radio, July 28, 2014!

“FREE BRAINS” This seems to be of topic lately and I found a new resource today. Remember what works for someone else may not fit in your business model. However, reading best practices is a win/win for you and your clients.

REMEMBER: free really isn’t free.

We have all heard “hey can I pick your brain?” We have also observed the random commuter stopped at the light next to us picking their nose.

A dear friend of mine Elizabeth McCormick who is highly successful in her field lent me great advice earlier this year.

The advice was regarding boundaries and protecting my time. Not only does it set boundaries, protect my time, but also my past and current clients investments.

This statement has taken practice and courage; due to the fact I am a value-adder, giver, nurturer, and over-all-making sure everyone else has what they need before my own needs. I am the one you want in the Emergency Exit Row. Do not mistake boundaries for no longer giving everything I have. This lends opportunity to give my time efficiently and fairly to my clients and family.

Brain Picker: “Hey, Tracy can I pick your brain?”

Tracy: “My clients usually pay me for that, would you mind sending me an email and I can help as my schedule allows?”

1) Those who are serious will send me an email. 2) Those who are looking for a quick fix never contact me.

CHALLENGE: Who are you letting Pick Your Brain? Who are you letting pull you out of focus and balance? Reality, they are picking their nose while you are giving away valuable resources.

The more intentional and focused you are on your goals the better you are able to serve those who desire and deserve your time.

Look UP and OUT my Friends!

Brain Picking Resources:

Adrienne Graham wrote a new article in Forbes; NO YOU CAN’T PICK MY BRAIN. IT COSTS TOO MUCH!

Michael Hyatt; Pick My Brain

Sharon Hayes; No Free Lunch

Both of the above questions can be answered with one word; INVESTMENT.

Investing in myself ; world-leaders such as Nick willingly pour wisdom, heart, and light into my life to achieving goals set for myself, clients, and also joining the top 20 percent leaders in my field.

My friend and mentor John C. Maxwell challenges us with, “bet on yourself, because if you don’t no one else will.” I personally heard this statement a few years ago and from then on I vowed to not only “bet” on myself but to “investment” as well.

Every year I not only spend time daily to learn, grow, and stretch to become the best I can be in my field; in turn adds to my Potential² bucket. I also spend monetary and time resources surrounding myself with mentors, leaders of industry, and peers who are on the same path of not only investing in their growth but adding to their potential².

The more we “bet” and “invest” in self we in turn give back to our clients, community, and world community as a whole.

“…no one is better than you, and no one is smarter than you. If someone is doing better than you are today, it is simply proof that he has begun doing the things other successful people have done. . . knowledge and skill are the keys . . . you must never let up. You must be continually learning and growing – every day, week, and month – throughout your career. . . to earn more, you must learn more.” ~ B.Tracy

Queen Esther’s story is truly taking opportunity and turning it into hope. She was whisked away to be part of the Kings bride-tribe. From here God unfolded his plan into Ester’s life; to save His people. Esther became queen and opportunity of courageous hope to save Gods people was born.

With combined courage and planning Queen Esther won the day by listening to God’s plan and not compromising her integrity in the midst of it all. Here are a few take-a-way’s:

Combine courage and planning.

Concern yourself over others than yourself.

Serving God often puts your safety at risk.

God has a purpose for the situations he places you in.

Courage is vital, but does not replace careful planning.

Respect what is good and stand humbly against what is wrong. God is in control of your world, no matter how small, large or influence; God is your protector.

“The opportunities we have are more important than the ones we wish we for.”

Daily I am aware of the life giving force of striving toward my potential and from this came about a book Potential².

Definition: Infinite Potential (Potential²) is growing, learning, and adding value to self and others until we are no longer able to take another breath on this earth.

One way to Potential² is a path of knowledge. Knowledge is only powerful when it is applied to be more than you are today. Did you know?

One-third of high school graduates will never read another book after graduation.

42% of college graduates will never read another book after graduation.

32% of the U.S. population has never been in a bookstore.

Most people are willing to settle for average in life, and I hope you are not willing to settle for average!

Fullest life? Your potential carries a life and energy force of its own. When living within your gifts, your potential for joy and success comes naturally and without struggle. This equals your fullest life.

You know who you are and what you have to offer the world but one of the hardest things to do is to help others see that too. Dorie Clark has a wonderful article in Harvard Business Review with a few beginning steps of how to communicate your potential!

“Overcoming people’s past perceptions of you isn’t easy. . . Of course, you can’t just prop someone’s eyelids open, A Clockwork Orange-style, and force them to read your white papers or watch your webinars. So how do you get other people to realize, and remember, what you’re doing now — and grasp what you’re truly capable of?”

When was the last time you said no to someone asking you to volunteer, participate, or come to a meeting that has nothing to do with your direct responsibilities?

We all do it, and I would love to share with you it is OK to say NO! Saying no gives you the freedom to be and become the person you are meant to be. It gives you veto power to:

“Do not ask for permission ~ state your purpose and move forward.” T Worley

The more successful you are the more others “want” or “take” from you. This usually means sitting on boards, committee’s, and endless volunteer hours. Karin Hurt outlines volunteering and these are wonderful questions to ask yourself as you move into volunteering giving you the power to not ask permission to say no if the opportunity does not fit into your purpose; and in turn gives others the power to say no if it does not fit within their purpose.

_______________________________________________________________

Karin Hurt’s blog Let’s Grow Leader’s post regarding volunteers hits home on the power to state our purpose and move forward. Note, the below is a directly quoted from Karin’s blog. Karin has wonderful explanation behind all seven so I encourage you to visit her blog for “the rest of the story.”

When people lead, they connect more deeply to your mission and to one another. Connection feels good. They stay. Make volunteer leadership easier and more accessible.

1. Create bite size roles

2. Inventory talents and skills

3. Limit terms

4. Include young people and give them power

5. Empower possibility

6. Communicate opportunities

7. Allow failure

_______________________________________________________________

Another resource of NO is my dear friend Debi Markland’s, How to Perfect the Art of Saying No.

Challenge: Take a NO inventory:

When was the last time you gave yourself permission to say NO?

When was the last time you cut-away activities no-longer in alignment with your purpose?

Self-Esteem ~ Do You Have a Good One?

Back in my day the two words self-esteem started to become prevalent and we were told to have a good self-esteem. Today we more likely state self-esteem as self-image. As an adolescent I thought a good self-esteem sounded great so I would ask, “ok, how do I get a good self-esteem?” Adults would look at me in disbelief that I did not know how to obtain a good self-esteem and reply, “It is a good idea to have a good one so go for it.”

Basically, we were told to have a good self-esteem but seemed the educators, counselors, and parents telling us to have self-esteem had no idea how to guide us to recognizing what it really is and how to obtain or sustain a healthy self-esteem.

Working with youth today, I talk about self-esteem/self-image and ask the following questions regarding self-esteem/image; here is my analysis of response:

Question: Self-Esteem/Image

Yes

No

How many of you know what self-esteem is? (Raised Hands)

35%

65%

Who can tell me how to obtain a positive self-image? (Raised Hands)

2%

98%

Who can tell me characteristics of someone who has a positive self-esteem? (Verbal Response)

2%

98%

If I told you when you leave here today with a tool-box to create and sustain a positive self-image will you give me 40 minutes of your undivided attention? Fair? (Raised Hands)

90%

10%

I do not know about you, but I know I am NOT ok with our youth of today still confused and not allowed to think outside of the box of what we call “fitting in”. Our youth have completely lost who they are and God’s purpose in their life.

Here are qualities and tools for a healthy self-esteem/image:

Be of good character (values, thoughts, feelings, actions)

Live by the Golden Rule; treat others the way you would want to be treated.

Live in reality vs. reality television.

Find the potential in self and others.

Lift others up when in need (bully factor).

Failing forward is ok, learn from failing and move forward without self-hate.

Responsible for actions and words.

Have people in your life, who will believe in you, make you feel special.

Do something positive in somebody else’s life.

Make a list of positive qualities you want in your life and apply them.

What do you do well, and keep doing it.

Keep doing what makes you excited.

Strive to be better tomorrow than you are today.

Who is a real-life super hero in your life? Write the qualities you like about them and apply them to your life.

Remember, today is not forever and if you mess up start over. Life is an adventure, not a test.

“If you give, you will receive.” Luke 6:38

Ever wonder what your life would be like if everyone praised your success, and turn a blinds-eye to your failures?

Ever wonder how some people are always praised for something you do everyday and never personally receive praise for the same task. Not that you ask for praise or feel like you will die without it, but just wonder how some are recognized over others. This takes us to 1 Chronicles 29:12 and 19(NLT).

12 “Riches and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your and, it is at your discretion that people are made great and given strength.”

19 “Give my son Solomon the wholehearted desire to obey all your commands, decrees, and principles, and to build this Temple, for which I have made all these preparations.”

True honor and praise come from one source and that is God. This truly puts hearts into the right place when we may get stuck comparing ourselves to others who receive praise, honor, and riches over us. Then David goes straight to the heart of the matter and prays for his son Solomon to wholeheartedly desire and obey.

I ask the following questions of myself when at times caught in the angst of wanting praise or comparing myself to others, and hope they help you too.

Is my motive a momentary legacy or a spiritual legacy?

Am I doing what God wants or what I want? (journey is always harder when “I” is involved)

Am I being courageous and praising God before myself? (taking out self)

Are all my thoughts and activities within and for His commands, decrees, principles, and preparation through my gifts? (everyone is gifted in different areas, and no comparison should ever be made)

Admittedly, 100% of the time when I have an uneasy feeling of watching others receive praise and not immediately being joyful for their success; it is because my motives are not within Gods design. The above questions have helped me on a journey of praising others above all else; and myself!

Look UP and OUT my Friends!
